There were 45,899 deaths of care home residents during in March and April, of which 12,526 (27%) were deaths where COVID19 was mentioned on the death certificate

It was the second leading cause of death in female care home residents, after dementia and Alzheimer's disease, accounting for 23.5% of deaths.

These shocking figures show the scale and severity of the COVID-19 outbreak among care home residents. The announcement that 12,526 care home residents have died means that they make up almost 40% of the total deaths from COVID-19.ᆧ.

All these deaths are tragic, however 'mentioned on death certificate' is NOT the same as confirmed as due to Covid-19. Let's print facts, not scaremongering sensationalism.
