Lockdown came 3 weeks too late to have much of an impact. Earliest deaths have now been reported in late February. On a positive note looks like it’s burning out of its own accord.
The handling of COVID has been a very British disaster partly because some at the top arrogantly thought that we should ‘take it on the chin’. If we had taken the Cygnus report seriously and done proper track & trace then we would have recovered much quicker.

Public Health England didn't get traction from govt to Excercise Cygnus, consequently leading to failure to enact the report's recommendations. Critically, Brexit stopped the follow up at interdepartmental/Cobra level. Catastrophic Govt & Civil Service failures that led us here.
Why are no Royals ( in their ivory towers ), millionaires ,Lords, Ladies or even MP's on the death list ? I only see Doctors, Nurses, Health Workers, Bus Drivers, Pensioners just ordinary people. This is what ' We are all in this together means '

No contact tracing, no arrivals being checked or quarantined, care home failures and difficulties with PPE. Hard to see this not as a disaster
