Easing lockdown restrictions county by county would be too difficult to police, Minister Regina Doherty warns

Social Protection Minister Regina Doherty has said it would be too difficult to ease lockdown laws on a regional basis across Ireland.

Earlier this week, Independent TD John Halligan said there is a "case to be made" for easing restrictions in various counties, adding that Dublin has some of the highest infection rates. "I think it would be a very difficult situation, not only to communicate but also to police, for want of a better word," she said.

Holohan not expecting to advise easing of restrictionsChief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said he is still not in a position to recommend easing restrictions due to Covid-19. Today If CMOIreland doesn't recommend LeoVaradkar to ease even the most minor COVID19 restriction on Tuesday they're going to completely lose the tiny bit of trust the public have in them. Complacency will be the least of of their worries. The public aren't stupid & need something. So because they've failed to get adequate testing in place we're all paying the consequences. The country is going to go bust and we're going to pay for this for a long time.
