The government is on the lookout for “uncommitted” funds in the 2020 national budget to be used to help augment its cash allotment for the COVID-19 health crisis. | DJEsguerraINQ

Lacson said the questionable appropriations were lodged in certain state agencies, such as the Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Works and Highways , by members of the House of Representatives and some of his colleagues in the Senate. However, Roque said it is up to the line agencies if they would realign the budget for the projects to help cushion the impact of the new coronavirus pandemic.“Hindi po DBM ang magdedesisyon sa realignment kundi ‘yung line departments. So pagdating po sa mga proyekto ng mga Senador at Kongresista, e pinauubaya na po namin yan kay Sec. Villar dahil karamihan naman po ng mga proyektong yan ay nasa DPWH,” he said.
