The Victorian state coronavirus death toll has risen to 15 after a man in his 80’s died of the disease overnight.

Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed the death on Sky News on Sunday morning.

Mr Andrews said the number of cases of COVID-19 has jumped by nine to 1328, but insisted the rise in numbers is linked to increased testing. “We are looking more, we are finding cases and that gives us confidence that we are being very successful in terms of suppressing this virus,” the Premier said.
