At least 30 people, including 10 staff and 20 residents, have tested positive for the virus at the Newmarch House in Western Sydney. Overnight a 58-year-old woman and 83-year-old man also died from the virus.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly said the virus is a reminder that it's “not just an old person’s disease, we are all in this together for a reason because it can affect any of us”. “Whilst it is true to say majority of cases, over 80 per cent are mild, some of them can be very severe,” he said. “We still have 55 people across Australia in intensive care right now, some of those are being ventilated and some of those extremely sick.” The national death toll has now risen to 69.
'The estimated Rt was 1·28 (95% CI 1·26–1·30) during the 2-week period before the start of the school closures and 0·72 (0·70–0·74) during the first 2 weeks of school closures, corresponding to a 44% (34–53%) reduction in transmissibility (figure 3C).' Hong Kong school closures.
The ventilators kill them by pushing all the residue down into the lungs. More people die in hospitals than anywhere else so let’s close the hospitals.

Poor elderly woman my thoughts is with her family, thank goodness we decided last year not to put our mum in that aged care facility
