Heart surgeon returns to treat sickest COVID-19 patients after recovering from virus

At Maimonides Medical Center in New York, some patients are being treated with oxygenated blood to their lungs as a last resort.

Dr. Paul Saunders, a heart surgeon, returned to work to treat COVID-19 patients at Maimonides Medical Center.After fighting a mild case and recovering, he began his first full day at Maimonides on Thursday. "Everyone's working so hard and the whole time I was home, I was just anxious to get back, just get back and get back to work," he said.
