COVID-19: Gbajabiamila blasts Health Minister over doctors’ hazard allowance

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, says the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, “dropped the ball” after he admitted he is not aware if doctors and other health practitioners tackling COVID-19, are paid hazard allowance.

Ehanire, who met with the National Assembly leadership in Abuja on Thursday, claimed that what the doctors are doing is routine. Gbajabiamila had asked the Minister if the medical personnel handling Coronavirus cases were paid any hazard allowance. Ehanire replied: “I am not aware of it,” adding that “it is the standard job they do every day; it is the standard job.”Nigerian medical doctors earn a monthly hazard allowance of N5,000.

This country is designed for the political class. Anybody outside their boat is a slave. Pls ask the health minister if he doesn't collect different allowances himself.

A whole minister of health is not aware and not even concerned if the doctors and other health practitioners are not receiving their hazard allowance. And he called himself health minister

Not only to blast.. the speaker should call for his resignation or to be sacked immediately. What a disgraceful minister..
