Malacañang will be closed on Thursday for disinfection as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). | DJEsguerraINQ

The Presidential Security Group commander, Col. Jesus Durante, confirmed this in a phone interview with INQUIRER.net.“The disinfection will only last for a while, but it will be done by sectors,” he said, speaking partly in Filipino. “So maybe it would last a whole day because they can’t do all of it at the same time.”

The disinfection of the “main Palace” will be regularly implemented to protect the seat of the government from the COVID-19 threat, Durante explained.
