On social media, Londoners have described the city as feeling ‘empty’ with usually bustling areas such as the Cutty Sark in Greenwich and Soho depleted of visitors.Images also show tubes and train stations deserted, suggesting many are avoiding public transport and working from home as a precaution.

Demand for international travel has weakened since the disease outbreak, with people cancelling flights and putting off holidays until cases die down. Government-imposed travel restrictions has also forced airlines to cancel flights to China, Italy and other coronavirus hotspots, meaning usually busting airports have been devoid of passengers over the past weeks.

I find this unlikely. Must have been filmed before the crowds arrived. Even the day after 7/7 buses, tube trains and everywhere else was back to normal. Not much puts people off our capital
