The health ministry said people were screened for the coronavirus when they left China and again when they arrived in SA.

Disembarking passengers don masks at Cape Town International Airport on March 6 2020 amid fears of the coronavirus outbreak. The health ministry has moved to clarify that people travelling from China, but not from Wuhan city or Hubei province, are allowed into SA.

Ministry spokesperson Dr Lwazi Manzi said people from other parts of China “have a far lower risk of acquiring Covid-19 than those in Wuhan city or Hubei province. “The World Health Organisation has maintained there is no restriction on travel or trade with China since the outbreak. Be that as it may, no-one is allowed to purchase a ticket to leave China without having undergone a screening process to ensure there is no risk of a traveller leaving China who may have come into contact with the virus,” she said.

Manzi said these people were screened for the coronavirus when they left China and again when they arrived in SA. “These travellers do not need to be placed under quarantine when they return to SA and no-one should be pressurised to self-quarantine when they return home,” she said.

Screened meaning filling in a form🙄🙄

When Xi Jinping snaps an order CyrilRamaphosa clicks his heals. As the only BRICS member with a begging bowl in hand the ANC will gladly sacrifice the well being of SouthAfricans rather than upset master China. Russia closed their border. Ramaphosa throws SA’s wide open!

They need to be screened again a week after arrival. Health officials are suppose to know this. CDC was quite clear on how the virus works & how it develops within our systems.Screening people within two days doesn't do nothing and the virus won't be detected.

So, how did the 9 from Italy manage to pass the airport?😭🤦🏾‍♀️we are 💀 dead

Clearly then someone was sleeping on the job cause we got 7 confirmed cases.

That white lady that appeared on world television claiming she left RSA due to protests that take place in SA when Chinese were protesting some time last year must stay in China and not come back RSA. She spoke ill of our country.

Haaibo but the other 2 men in masks looks like West africans

Travellers from China are welcome?😭😭😭 aowa. Le emetje ditopo akere😤

They must be quarantined for at least 14 days and get tested again. We can't trust anyone who's into RSA right now.

Welcome kanjani? We have a shit government yazi!
