The Australian reported that “cabinet has approved a $2.4 billion medical response to the coronavirus outbreak that will include more than 100 fever clinics rolled out across the country and allow people experiencing symptoms to stay home and charge GP audio and video calls to Medicare”.
On Friday the government met with health officials and health experts in Canberra to look at how they were going to tackle the coronavirus from a public health perspective”. Ms Goddard said doctors were “facing huge number of calls to their clinic from people concerned they have got the virus. “In Sydney there were more than 250 people lined up in front of the doors before 8:00 this morning just to get tested,” she said.
