KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 — The illegal dumping of toxic waste into the Indah Water Konsortium sewer by irresponsible parties has been determined to be the cause of odour pollution at the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant. Plant operations were suspended yesterday to prevent the pollution of treated water, affecting more than 1.5 million consumers in parts of Hulu Langat, Sepang, Putrajaya, Petaling Jaya and Kuala Langat.

mpklang We hear of this happening all over the country, but you don’t see anyone being charged. People who dump toxic waste into the rivers must be shot on sight, same way as those who kill our protected animals. Let’s see some real hard actions.

Why is there no mechanism to check water way ahead before it entered the treatment plant stage? Its despicable and a total failures after failure. By simply discharge illegal waste, Selangor can be paralysed? How ludicrous is this?
