Thousands more workers in one Australian state have scored 10 extra days of leave. Public sector staff in Queensland will have access to reproductive health leave entitlements from September 30. It can be accessed for things such as endometriosis, vasectomies, IVF and fertility treatment, menopause and reproductive cancer screenings.

” Victoria, NSW and the Australian Capital Territory have five days of reproductive health leave, and the rest of Australia has none. Queensland’s move was previously welcomed by unions as a huge win for workers. “Most of us have experienced, or will experience at some stage in our working lives, issues related to our reproductive health,” Queensland Council of Unions general secretary Jacqueline King said in May.
