KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong wants clear answers from the government over the implementation of the mySalam medical protection scheme for the low and middle-income segments.

"Based on the minutes of the annual general meeting of Great Eastern Holdings April 2019 on their website, the chairman of Great Eastern Holding said that RM2bil in funds for the mySalam scheme had yet to be paid.

Dr Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP, said he had raised the question in Parliament's Special Chambers on Tuesday but was dismayed at the answer given by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah."Instead it was an answer that beat around the bush and did not answer my questions, which I had asked in a direct manner," he said.
