Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is calling for transport, environment and health reforms and the need to “cut red tape' to boost the Australian economy.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is calling for transport, environment and health reforms and the need to “cut red tape" to boost the Australian economy. Mr Frydenberg will address the Downer Oration in Adelaide on Thursday, where he is set to push for productivity reforms and argue that complacency is posing a threat to the economy.

The treasurer told Sky News the focus will be on “supply-side reform, where we can get more flexible workplaces", which he hopes will deliver a “productivity boost” for “economic growth, wages and jobs”. His speech comes when all levels of government are under pressure from the Reserve Bank's string of rate cuts, and the drought crisis' impact on the budget. Image: News Corp Australia

Can we just cut JoshFrydenberg out of parliament! It would do wonders for our economy

Does this maggot mean “let’s privatise even more services that will see them skyrocket in costs and drastically reduce in quality...how about FO

Workchoices 2.0......here it comes people.... Slow clap brain dead liberal voters 😂

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA poor Josh, lied about the economy expecting to lose then accidentally won and is now stuck holding the crashing economy he said was strong 😂😂😂 Epic own goal 😂😂😂 how good are liberal recessions 😂 😂 😂

'The treasurer told Sky News the focus will be on “supply-side reform, where we can get more flexible workplaces'...' Liberals talking of cutting red tape and flexibility. Decoded - Workchoices 2.0 More toll roads Higher private health premiums approved Subsidised coal

“supply-side reform' and 'increased flexible workforce'. Damn that pesky minimum wage

'Health reforms' sounds so much nicer than privatise Medicare.

6 1/2 years in and he’s calling for reform. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The most expeditious method for an economic boost is for the LNP to be removed from office immediately

I'm sure its about the wealthy & welfare getting better deals while the struggling lower paid worker who can't afford private health will get screwed even more with higher taxes, higher cost or travel to get to work while looking out seeing developers allowed to destroy land.

If you want to boost the economy then cut immigration to ZERO.

Nah, not buying it, how about some vision, leadership, a plan?

In case you’re wondering, when Liberals say “cut red tape”, they mean for business, to let them do whatever they like (see: WorkChoices). It doesn’t mean making bureaucracy easier for ordinary Australians to navigate (if anything, they make it worse. See NDIS, Centrelink).

Thats what they've been saying for 7yrs now. Maybe it's past the time for just calling for the reforms...

Environment reform ? You mean to bulldoze more of our environment to please his developer mates ! JoshFrydenberg Auspol

This guy is a joke, cutting red tape will solve it all, their like F'ing clockwork.

NICE TRY Josh Frydenberg to divert attention from your lack of action to the stalled national economy. You continue to ignore RBA and business warnings that the economy HAS STALLED. The country is sliding towards recession and this is the best you can offer Australians. smh

Like buildings regs, for example, and light touch regulation in aged care. Great progressive stuff

We hear you. But what are you going to do to boost the economy Josh?

RED TAPE! Like all the RED TAPE we have cut in the Building Industry? How does that always work out Australia? Lower Standards people dead. Is this really the Australia we want?

This is what expecting to lose an election and having no ideas for the economy looks like...

Cutting red tape had worked so well in the construction, mining and aged care industries... Thought he already did that under Tabbot and Abetz
