A disabled homeless man who struggles to stay clean due to a medical issue has been banned from staying at his local night shelter.
He is not allowed to stay at the local shelter overnight because of ‘on-going hygiene issues’, forcing him to camp on the streets in freezing weather. Opening up about his ordeal on Sky News he said: ‘In the evenings when everything is closed when I need to use a loo, that makes it very difficult for me, I deal with it as best as I can.Advertisement

The article doesn't mention the fact that Tom was helped by the Council before and did have an accommodation but, as he says, he made some 'bad choices' and was growing cannabis inside his flat. So Tom did have support but he made other choices..

Remember that the homeless crisis has exponentially gotten worse through the austerity and other nasty policies driven by our Conservative government over the past decade. Also remember that homeless people are human too. Like you and me, they love and feel and want to be happy
