Breaking: Health officials are looking at vitamin E as a potential cause of lung injuries that have killed dozens and sickened thousands who have used vaping devices

U.S. health officials are looking closely at vitamin E acetate as a potential cause of the severe lung injuries that have sickened thousands of Americans who have used vaping devices, including more than three dozen who died as a result.

Vitamin E acetate is a thick and gummy syrup, similar in consistency to honey, that some illegal makers of vaping liquids use to dilute their product in order to reduce the amount of active ingredients they need to add.

It's not a 'potential cause'. It is the cause. Stop with the bullshit already.

Why isn't the U.S. focusing on the cigarette industry which does way more damage to lungs than e-cigarettes? How much are they getting paid by cigarette companies, to take out the competition?

Does this apply to marijuana cartridges too? Or just tobacco?

Vitamin E acetate, a cutting agent. You had the characters to be specific enough not to imply the black market thc wasn't the problem. It is. That's the point.

Inhaling oil damages the lungs. Most cooks know and avoid inhaling oil that’s in the air because the oil got too hot. That’s true of any oil, even if the oil has vitamin E.

So what are all of the people and politicians, who overreacted, going to do after blaming legit businesses for the problem?

VITAMIN E acetate is the equivalent of rat poison

The number of Americans sickened in the outbreak has steadily increased. As of Nov. 5, the CDC reports there were: - 2,051 cases reported in 49 states, the District of Columbia and one U.S. territory - 39 confirmed deaths

I have only ever seen this in skin care. Why on earth would it be in the vaping pens?

Isn't this old news? They've been saying this for months now.

Wait what
