The UK's political parties are setting out their platforms ahead of the snap general election on December 12.
The party said the legislation"would explicitly prevent any future UK government from signing up to any agreement that made the NHS, in any part of the UK, a bargaining chip of any kind in any future trade deals". She said:"The NHS in Scotland is run in Scotland, for Scotland and under the SNP it will always be in public hands. Our NHS is not for sale at any price.
When US President Donald Trump visited the UK in June, he said the NHS would form part of negotiations over a possible future trade deal between the UK and US. The next day, he rowed back from those remarks.
Fantastic idea from SNP, 'The NHS Protection Bill would block any UK government from using the NHS as a 'bargaining chip' in trade talks.' but how they'll get it past the Tories who voted AGAINST a similar bill, is the real problem
Protecting it from anyone but, the SNP more like. While sturgeon hosts dinners for potential American clients. She doesn't like anyone else selling it off but, it's OK for the SNP because they've got a scotlands best interests at heart is that right?
From the party that does a perfectly good job destroying the Scottish NHS with no help from Westminster whatsoever
Taking people for fools NicolaSturgeon
With around £130m spent on private hospital care on behalf of the NHS. Speaking out both sides of her mouth. £1.8b in debt and a children’s hospital that can’t open. Then claims to speak on behalf of the whole UK to protect the entire UK. The SNP going all unionist.
No one is selling the NHS (apart from when Labour sold services to Virgin). So this is just noise. Also if Scotland truly want independence, why worry about NHS? Access may not be assured
Quite right too, especially after last weeks threat by the blonde buffoon!
The arrogance of this from the FM. Remember that the SNP went off and negotiated a special deal with Vertex for Orikambi. She didn’t do that for the whole of U.K. , yet she wants a veto?
Will this protect the Scottish NHS from the SNP?
