A final decision has been made on where to locate a new government hospital in Kampar, says Perak Health Committee chairman A. Sivanesan .
Sivanesan added that the Federal Government had made the decision to build the new hospital, and the state government agreed in principle to provide the land. "The area picked is strategically located, as people from Kampar, Malim Nawar, Tanjung Tualang and even Gopeng would be able to seek medical treatment there once the hospital is up," he told reporters on Thursday at the site of the new hospital.
Also present during the site visit were Tualang Sekah assemblyman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi, Malim Nawar assemblyman Leong Cheok Keng and Keranji assemblyman Chong Zhemin.Sivanesan said the current 68-bed Kampar Hospital constructed in 1951 on a hill slope was no longer suitable due to space constraint.
