Scientists at the University of Tasmania find vaping is just as harmful to human health as cigarettes and even has the potential to cause lung cancer.

Brad McKay is among a group of Australian doctors who believe vaping is a better alternative to cigarettes.Dr McKay said he would support someone vaping if they had tried everything to quit without success.

"This notion that you can just replace cigarettes with vaping is clearly a flawed one and we need to push back on that," AMA vice-president Dr Chris Zappala said."A doctor who's prescribing it has no idea what these liquids have in them," he said.Vaping has been linked to at least 18 deaths and more than 1,000 cases of lung illness in the United States. Doctors say vaping with THC, a drug found in cannabis, increases the risks.
