Kingston, New York is a diverse city of 23,000, flanked to the east by Rondout Creek and the Hudson River and to the west by the Catskill mountains. It boasts a rustic industrial waterfront, a colorful historic district and Revolutionary War-era stone buildings. A stranger might call it bucolic. The streets of uptown are bustling with eateries and, of late, places to buy velvet halter dresses, vintage boleros, CBD tinctures, and LCD tea kettles with precision-pour spouts.
it must be exciting to rediscover free-trade capitalism! they should enjoy it while they can—no doubt they are still demanding a system where they grant government more authority over their healthcare, not less, and the trade of goods/services (art here) is not voluntary
“When the shit hits the fan, no one’s coming to rescue us,” Buff says. We’ve got to figure it out ourselves, because this is our city. This is where we live. This is what we’ve got.” - THIS IS actually free market capitalism they are building (vs the political capitalism around).
This is not a collapse of Capitalism. This is Capitalism in action. The fact that they can do what they think is non-capitalist (it's not) is a testament to a Capitalist, free country. Try going against 'the system' in a socialist society or similar. Barter is still Capitalism.
Besides the fact that the real estate market has gone hyperbolic in Kingston
Hope they have guns for when the refugees come up river🤨 Just kidding. Some nice ideas and a cool place for rich, white folks.
This is great work that builds on the Berkshire bucks and work of a lot of others around the world. A new world is possible.
Damn socialists can leave our capitalist country at any time. Let me show you the door....
Sounds more like they’re preparing themselves for the end of civilization. What a load of naïve crap.
Getting ready to return to being hunter-gatherers as that will be the result
Looks like a lotta white folk to me.
At least better than these poor souls:
