As NYPD suicides rise, city to provide officers free mental health care

Dallas police partner with several academic and medical institutions to provide mental health services, including the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg County police in North Carolina also can go outside for help, with financial assistance from the police department.O'Neill said that while the New York initiative has been in the works for some time, he's sorry that the department hasn't offered such outside help until now.

The issue isn't mental healthcare. The issue is the stigma of how officers seeking help, will be perceived as being weak. When we understand that those seeking help are no different than those that seek help 4 physical issues. & not to judge negatively or them being less than!

So they just decided to not tell the public why so many of them committed suicide and all within a few weeks apart one by one some vets so what that tell you Either they was bad cops or that laptop(Anthony Weiner)with the life insurance file.otherwise this is bs

How is this not already a thing? I'm sorry, but cops have a job that literally NO ONE should have to have and regular mental health care should be part of it. LE jobs grind people down and this idea that tough guys don't need help is stupid and dangerous.
