Many private hospitals might opt not to renew their accreditation with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), which allows their patients to avail of services which would be paid by the state health insurer.

Many private hospitals might opt not to renew their accreditation with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation , which allows their patients to avail of services which would be paid by the state health insurer.

“Many of our members are alarmed that they may experience the same fate and are now signifying their intention not to renew their accreditation next year,” PHAPi said in the letter dated Tuesday last week and published in a newspaper. PHAPi also claimed that these hospitals were not given the opportunity to be heard in a formal hearing.

It seems the private hospitals are the one financing the healthcare benefits of Philhealth members. Maybe that's really the intention of Philhealth officials... Pass the burden to private institutions.

Kawawa naman mga private hospital, abono muna sila bago makapaningil sa Philhealth. While philhealth pays them back 6 mos or later pa. Ganoon ka bagal magbayad ang Philhealth.
