PETALING JAYA: Malaysian scientist Prof Dr Serena Nik-Zainal has honoured the team that worked on the cancer genome interpretation research with her.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian scientist Prof Dr Serena Nik-Zainal has honoured the team that worked on the cancer genome interpretation research with her.

"Altho’ I am going to pick up this #JosefSteiner award, it represents collective effort, laughter, tears, enthusiasm, passion, energy, hard work from my wonderful #TEAM #WishUWereWithMe," she tweeted late Thursday night . Dr Serena is currently based in Britain, where she is with the University of Cambridge’s Medical Genetics Department and Medical Research Council Cancer Unit.Dr Serena said her social media accounts had received a lot of attention from the public after news broke that she would be awarded the Dr Josef Steiner Cancer Research Prize 2019.

She will be awarded today at the university, where Dr Serena will present her work under the title “Accelerating holistic cancer genome interpretation towards the clinic” during the award ceremony.
