The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) donated on Thursday P55 million to the Philippine National Police (PNP) that will be used in the medical needs of policemen.

PCSO General Manager Royina Garma said the cash donation is part of the share of the PNP of the earnings from lotto, Small-Town Lottery and other games.

“This is the PCSO way of supporting all the medical needs and health projects of the PNP for their personnel and dependents,” said Garma. The P55 million donation, according to Garma, is just part of the regular share that the PNP receives. Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, the Chief Directorial Staff of the PNP, said the donation is of big help in addressing the health care needs of their personnel, including their dependents.

Most of the donation is being used for the PNP General Hospital at Camp Crame while the rest are distributed in police hospitals in the regions.
