The Quezon City government has reported that four barangays in the city with cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) are now cleared of the disease due to its intensified culling campaign.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said Barangays Bagong Silangan, Tatalon, Tandang Sora, and Pasong Tamo are now ASF-free following the culling of pigs in these areas.

She said problems regarding financial assistance to the affected hog raisers have remained a challenge as the city government is still waiting for aid from the national government. She also cited issues such as the burial of the culled pigs, ensuring that the affected areas are properly disinfected, and that no affected pig is brought to a different area.
