A new report finds that although the poverty level is at its lowest since 2001, about 27.5 million people lack insurance -- the first time the number of uninsured has gone up since the Affordable Care Act took full effect in 2014.

WEDNESDAY, Sept. 11, 2019 -- The percentage of Americans living in poverty declined in 2018, but the rate of those withoutIt found that 11.8% of people lived in poverty last year, the lowest level since 2001. Median household income in 2018 was $63,200, essentially the same as 2017 after adjusting for inflation,Meanwhile, about 27.5 million people lacked health insurance for all of 2018, up from 7.
