The former BBC host will try cannabis to help his prostate cancer

He later walked away from the therapy after coming to a ‘stalemate’ with his diagnosis.

After being diagnosed in November 2017, he used the Stand Up to Cancer platform to go public with his own battle, and said: ‘It’s like a dark cloud comes down, it’s a difficult moment. Initially blaming his symptoms on older age, Bill had not been to see his GP for four years, and revealed that he was ‘not aware something was going rather wrong inside me’.‘Those first few days were probably the worst days of my life. Horrible moment. That first moment is a real shell shock,’ he continued.But he then added: ‘I really do think I’ve had a wonderful life, with amazing experiences as a reporter and a presenter.
