Mrs Ruth Kuju, a Medical Laboratory Scientist, wants Nigerians to maintain top hygienic practices to guard against bacterial infections that force people to use antibiotics regularly.

NAN reports that antibiotic resistance is when bacteria develop the ability to survive exposure to antibiotics designed to kill them or stop their growth. “To protect yourself from harmful bacteria, wash your hands often with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. She said to understand the mechanisms by which humans become resistant to antibiotics was a key task in preventing the development and spread of antibiotic resistant bacteria.
