How Pete Buttigieg would overhaul rural health

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg on Friday rolled out a sweeping plan to expand access to health services in rural communities, while addressing drug addiction and tackling rising maternal mortality rates across the country.

To build up the rural health workforce, his new proposal would expand the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, which currently requires employment by government or non-profits, care at the same level they do other medical care. The plan says the candidate will release a more detailed proposal on addiction and mental health soon.

While others are mobbing for the camera and saying white kids are just as smart as poor kids, Pete is working. Like his proposals or not, Pete is showing us the kind of President he would be. One that is dedicated, not out for the photo opportunity, and coming up with solutions

Bizarrely, this is something I think about often. How to deradicalize this population. Buttigieg is smart for addressing this upfront, localizing it and making starving people feel heard. Smart move. He won't win, but he might get some extra votes from this
