Quezon province recorded a total of 3,604 dengue cases with 9 deaths since January this year, according to Calabarzon’s Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit . Duque told Quezon officials in a meeting on Wednesday, August 7, that while there is no cure for dengue, they can stem an epidemic by taking simple measures.
According to the United States Center for Disease Control global risk, an estimated 390 million people get afflicted with dengue each year. Outbreaks have occurred in parts of Southeast Asia, Western Pacific, Eastern Mediterranean, Americas, Caribbean, and Africa. In these changing times, courage and clarity become even more important.
Somebody said I should ask you folks to relate the numbers to population. Even then, the back stories in each country may not be so simple. Just asking.
Thank you Duterte! You are the best!
