A speeding car packed with explosives being driven to carry out an attack has collided with other vehicles and exploded in central Cairo, killing at least 20 people. At least 20 people died, another 47 were injured and 78 hospital patients were evacuatedThe group has links to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood
The attack, just before midnight on Sunday evening, was the deadliest to have rocked the Egyptian capital in over two years. The car was driving against the traffic on the busy Corniche boulevard along the Nile River when it smashed into three other vehicles, setting off a massive explosion just outside the country's outside Egypt's main cancer hospital, the National Cancer Institute.
The Interior Ministry has accused a militant group known as Hasm, which has links to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, of moving the car — stolen in the Nile Delta — to carry out an attack elsewhere. However the ministry did not specify what the intended target was. President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi called it a"terrorist incident" in a tweet, in which he also expressed condolences for the dead and vowed to"face and root out terrorism".
Must be white supremacists.
