The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Tajudeen Balogun, said during the commencement of the test at the Zonal office A, Lagos, on Monday, that the test would be conducted on all officers and men of the corps by experts from the Behavioural Forensic Unit of the corps, adding that the exercise was in compliance with the directive of the NSCDC Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana.
He stated that the test was aimed to ascertain the emotional and psychological profiles of the personnel in the context of the overall functioning and identifying areas of psycho-social needs for an appropriate intervention programme. Balogun said, “Efficiency and effectiveness is the watchword of the corps and that is why our mission statement is efficiency, humility, integrity in service delivery. This exercise is meant to see what areas that we can improve performance and before we can have improvement, one must have evaluation of what is on the ground.
“This exercise does not have any negative aspect attached to it; it will not lead to retrenchment but to look at the areas where there are few imperfections and try to see how it can be corrected” The Head of Forensic Unit of NSCDC, Mr Tersoo Shaapera, said the goal of the exercise was to establish a forensic psychological database for the corps.All rights reserved.
