New Zealand plans to decriminalise abortion and treat it is as a health issue, the government said on Monday in the first major reform to abortion laws in more than four decades that some activists said fell short of expectations.
“Safe abortion should be treated and regulated as a health issue; a woman has the right to choose what happens to her body,” he added. In no way I'm religious. I am definitely against abortion my choice, but it isn't my place to stop women having a choice. I'm glad women will be given the choice & safely. If you don't like abortion don't force your idea on others, sounds like religion.

Most of the below commentary misunderstand what this is about: Abortion has been legal in NZ for decades. What Jacinda is proposing is to take the legislation regulating it out of the Crimes Act & put it into the Health regulation regime.
