Nearly five hours of contentious debate among 20 Democratic contenders over two nights last week showcased a stark ideological clash within the party over health care. Still, nearly six in 10 potential Democratic primary voters thought both Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden made convincing arguments, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll.

After being shown two video clips from the debates -- one of Sanders and one of Biden each outlining part of his vision for improving health insurance coverage for millions of Americans, respondents were asked to say if they found each clip very convincing, somewhat convincing, not so convincing or not at all convincing.

Biden’s position centers on expanding on the Affordable Care Act:"Obamacare is working. The way to build this and get to it immediately is to build on Obamacare. Go back and do, take back all the things that Trump took away, provide a public option, meaning every single person in America would be able to buy another option if they didn't like their employer plan or if they’re on Medicaid they would automatically be in the plan.

But more Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents -- 31% -- thought of the Sanders’ clip as very convincing, compared to only 18% who said the same of the Biden video. For Biden, 22% of those 65 and older thought the clip was very convincing while only 12% of 18- to 29-year-olds found it to be very convincing.

Most Dem voters say both Biden, Sanders made convincing health care pitches: POLLNEW: One-third of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents say they watched any of last week's debates. 55% of those who watched say the debates were somewhat useful in helping them decide whom to vote for in the 2020 primary. Politics what about the GREAT Obamacare Medicare for all lol. This means your employer stops paying for your health insurance. So if you make $50k a year and have a family of 4, you’re really making closer to $60k because your insurance costs about $10k. You lose that and have your taxes increased. Good luck 😂. It's odd how he wants to do away with private ins. They're the ones who the gov/medicare uses for Part D.
