Talks to tackle mental health and AFLX | petryan

Clubs expect the AFL to announce the person who will drive its comprehensive mental health and wellbeing strategy when CEOs meet at Nagambie in Victoria's north early next week.

The plan is based on recommendations arising from a mental health industry review conducted last year by Dr Daisy Brooke from the Alcohol and Drug Foundation. Concerns over AFLX are also expected to be raised at the two-day talkfest. Clubs are believed to be less than enthusiastic about the AFLX models put forward in recent months and are anxious to hear which direction the AFL intends to head with the modified game that some believe has little value beyond developing markets.
