The Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission , Prof. Nelson Brambaifa, has assured that the commission is committed to better healthcare delivery for the people of the crude oil and gas-rich region.
Brambaifa stated these yesterday at the corporate headquarters of NDDC in Port Harcourt, when a delegation from the NMA, Rivers branch, led by its Vice Chairman, Dr. Ebbi Robinson, visited him. He assured the NMA’s delegation of the support of NDDC in training and retraining of medical personnel, noting that it was necessary to bridge the gap in healthcare delivery in the Niger Delta by taking medical experts to the various communities.Brambaifa stated that NDDC was determined to make a difference in the health sector, through the engagement of relevant partners.
The acting managing director stated that NDDC’s free medical mission made it possible to assemble medical experts in different areas of specialisation to attend to the needs of people who would otherwise not have access to such highly-qualified medical personnel.
