Helen Kennedy, from the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, said:"They're losing their life to suicide at twice the rate."Ms Kennedy told the commission part of the problem was a lack of recognition of the profound trauma arising from a long history of marginalisation and the dispossession of land, culture and children.
