Before Colin Jackson begins his coaching and media work each day, he follows a simple health-boosting morning routine.

“The first thing I do when I get up is go for a fasted walk,” reveals Jackson, 52, who lives just outside Cardiff. “I get up about six o'clock, have one black coffee and off I go. I walk about six kilometres in 50 minutes so it’s a decent pace. When you exercise in a fasted state you burn more calories. And walking has much less impact on your body than trying to jog first thing in the morning.
