It is much more instinctive for politicians to invoke 9/11 to inflame bigotry than to agree that its victims deserve health care

According to a Congressional spokesperson, only two subcommittee members actually did not show up — Reps. Eric Swalwell and Guy Reschenthaler . Others cycled in and out of the hearing, leaving many seats unfilled for long stretches of time. But the funding process has indeed been messy.

As Omar said “some people did something” and these poor first responders who are still alive and their families are suffering. Hard to believe it was so difficult to get Congress on board. Of course there would have been no need if some people hadn’t done something.
