California regulators officially conclude that coffee does not pose a “significant” cancer risk. That means it won’t need to carry an ominous health warning.

LOS ANGELES — California officially gave its blessing to coffee on Monday, declaring the beverage does not pose a “significant” cancer risk.

The state took the unusual move after a Los Angeles judge found Starbucks Corp. and other companies failed to show that benefits from drinking coffee outweighed risks from a byproduct of the roasting process.

How in the world did gamakatsu hooks end up the list? They’re made out of steel wire.

I’m so old I can remember when experts said coffee was good for you, then later experts decided it was bad for you & now apparently experts say it’s neither good nor bad. I wish I could do my job this poorly & still get paid.

Hmm.the first time California hasn't declared that something will kill you...Starbucks must have paid a fortune to ward off that label.

Then that's the only thing California doesn't think causes cancer.

Yet glyphosate, which is not likely to cause cancer, is being ruled as a carcinogen in court cases. Interesting.

Shocking news. Really

I need to mark my calendar. A correct decision was made in California!

In other words the lobbyists got another company an exemption

The only thing Prop 65 labels aren't on are vehicles (or if they are they are not highly visible) and we all know the stuff they produce doesn't cause cancer, right?

or he kills or he is stressful !

That’s good because I never cut back on how much I drank!

What is their conclusion on feces in the streets?

However the coffee CUP is still classified as carcinogenic in CA (along with everything else) so there's that.

🙄Whatever with these studies.

Kape = Breast Cancer.. sobrang Kape-pendot, Kape-pesil..

Brought to you by Starbucks.

And how much did that cost?

This ballot measure went a little too far. When I lived in CA, I stopped paying attention to this warning because I felt like everything had the label. It is important to label known carcinogens and mutagens, but there should be a threshold so that it doesn’t just become noise.

But asbestos is gluten free !!!

California says? So, must be deadly.

Thank God. Because millions of coffee drinkers would of stopped based on some crazy Cali statement.

California's Proposition 65 warning labels adorn just about everything in California, meaning that few people actually notice them anymore.

Peki.

Crisis averted!

Can anyone confirm the amount 'big coffee' recently lobbied with? 🤣🤣

Good for the coffee industry for not putting up with the extortion attempt by California regulators.
