JAKARTA: Ani Yudhoyono, the wife of Indonesia’s sixth president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono died of cancer at the National University Hospital, Singapore today. Ani, 66, breathed her last at 11.50am Singapore time, according to Indonesian media quoting a statement from SBY’s special officer who was at the hospital.Born on June 6, 1952, Ani was Indonesia’s first lady when Susilo Bambang was president from 2004 to 2014.
Ani’s remains are expected back home in Jakarta at 7am tomorrow and funeral prayers would be performed at Rumah Duka in Cikeas before she is laid to rest at the Kalibata National Heroes Mausoleum.
