Breast cancer rate highest in Penang, says Yeoh

Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Hannah Yeoh says that the breast cancer rate is greater in Penang than other states because of self-awareness and the willingness to go for screening. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 30, 2019.

PENANG has the highest number of breast cancer cases nationwide, according to Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Hannah Yeoh. The minister said Penang had 50 reported cases per 100,000 women, followed by the federal territories, at 42 cases per 100,000 women, and Johor with 39 cases per 100,000 women.
