Not the same thing as asking a motorcyclist to remove their helmet at all. Hospitals are supposed to be all about dignity and respect these days so why wasn't the patient treated that way.
It is so obvious most people commenting haven't read the report.
Have never been a fan of the full veil personally. It symbolises segregation, an aloofness to the rest of society. I feel there is no place for this in the UK. Tricky and emotional subject though. Hope there poor doc doesn't lose his job.

I could never understand why if a woman doesn't want to show her face in society in the west, she want to go out of the house. The full veil symbolises segregation and there is no place for it any modern society. She should move to a country where this is socially acceptable.
Most Muslims with some common sense would support the doctor 100%, end of the day it was a request and she was not forced to remove it so why make all the fuss.
For me I think if the doctor needed to see something medically underneath her hijab then absolutely but if he didn't then I don't understand why he asked her to remove it.Then again for safeguarding I can understand why...
Thats only acceptable if the doctor is deaf, trying to understand her by reading lips.💁🏻♀️

Why are we pandering to this shit? Ban the burka and other face covering in non muslim countries. They are not culturally appropriate in the west. Follow the laws and customs of whatever country you are in.

Aw C'MON ! This is a doctor for chryssake ! A medical examination ! What if he asked a Muslim to undress completely for an examination ? Would some ayatollah issue a death fatwa against him ? He's a DOCTOR ! That's the essential job they're required to DO !
I find it difficult to understand why a thin bit of cloth should stop him from hearing what she says. I have worked in theatres and the face masks worn in theatre are not a barrier to communication. We can all hear what the surgeon is saying.
Solve the problem, ban the veil.
I find it so bizarre that people seem to protect the values of this oppressive practice. We are freedom fighters for them, not racists.
On one side she won’t remove veil bc he is a male doctor. On his side he can’t hear her and asks her to remove veil. Ok two people two different perspectives. One unaware this request is considered a no no. The other sees the request as a violation and disrespectful. So be aware

I dunno, we need to look at both sides. If the woman had just a slur or a lisp then I imagine he would have had her speak slowly to as to hear her. I don't think it would be *impossible* for him to hear her with the veil on.
