"It got to the stage where I was using a walking stick to walk and any form of standing for longer than five minutes was agony," he said. "I couldn't do housework, mow the lawns, do the gardens and I was leading a sedentary lifestyle and was trying to function at work by using drugs to relieve the pain."

It is a medical treatment that puts a road block on the nervous system to stop pain signals getting to the brain.
