Tory Boy Leo Varadkar and his party’s refusal to build affordable homes or what we once called council housing is straight out of the Thatcherite handbook. Similarly they have allowed the banks to torment and threaten families and rewarded them for doing so with a 20-year corporate tax holiday. Then again, inconveniences like the lack of affordable housing or a functioning public health system don’t affect Fine Gael’s core support, so why would they bother with them?Not only have they failed to do, so they quadrupled the numbers of people who languish in emergency departments and corridors waiting for treatment.
Here are two massive infrastructure projects which should have cost no more than a total of €2 billion costing at least €6 billion and counting.
