Musicians give GoT themes the M'sian treatment, and locals are loving it

The talented musicians, playing under the name Mahakarya Studios MY, produced a traditional mash-up cover of three popular compositions from the wildly popular fantasy series with a unique folksy Malaysian twist.Pairing the classical violin and cello with traditional Malay musical instruments like gambus, gendang and serunding, the group created a hauntingly beautiful rendition Ramin Djawadi’s House Greyjoy, House Stark and the opening theme of Game of Thrones.

“I hope one day Malaysia will have one series like Game of throne but the stories are all about our pahlawan dulu2,” said another. Some even put in requests for covers of Marvel’s Endgame and music popular videogames Skyrim and Witcher. The group replied in the comments section, thanking everyone for their support and promised to continue delivering more.
