Cancer: Breakthrough treatments to target drug resistance

He said the institute was"changing the entire way we think about cancer" to focus on anticipating the way cancer cells will evolve to prevent them from becoming resistant to drugs.

Scientists aim to use new approaches including multidrug combination treatments and artificial intelligence to predict and influence the evolution of cancer cells, creating weaknesses that treatments can exploit.Dr Andrea Sottoriva, deputy director of cancer evolution in the new centre, said:"Artificial intelligence and mathematical predictive methods have huge potential to get inside cancer's head and predict what it is going to do next and how it will respond to new treatments.

The cure is always just around the corner...just another decade of funding big pharma..😤

GCMAF 👍

Believe it when I c it. Guess peeps getting wise to cancer charities & not giving as much. They would lose loadsa business if a cure was ever released, so never gonna happen. Chucking a few carrots out every now & again in the hope of keeping the money rolling in. notforprofit

So everyone will now live forever, it is as we all know primarily a disease of old age, where will our replacements live, naw this is just for rich people

getting closer-if only we'd put our efforts into research instead of greed and war-welldone to all of the people working in this field of research.

“Cancer's ability to adapt, evolve and become drug resistant was the cause of the vast majority of deaths”. What?!!! But religionists insist that evolution doesn’t exist. So, is their god personally responsible for new cancers killing us? What a complete bastard!

Yet another cancer breakthrough .. we get these headlines every 6 months or so and have done for decades, then .. nothing. The cynic in me wonders if the search for a cure is too big a business in itself to allow a cure to be found.

ow many times av people heard tht 👎

The best way to prevent cancer is a healthy diet.

Well done

Can be available in the next decade just not on the NHS
