Bill Shorten is picking up the pace on the election campaign, touching down in Launceston where Labor is fighting to keep the two marginal seats of Bass and Braddon.

Labor will be making a health-focused pledge during the Opposition Leader’s visit, promising more health funding to minimise waiting list times, including those for elective surgeries.

Mr Shorten spent the night with Labor MP Ross Hart, who holds Bass on a margin of more than four per cent. Despite the large margin, Mr Shorten says he is not complacent because the seat has changed hands in seven of the last nine elections. Image: News Corp Australia
